NBC News Story on Running
Thanks for the link. I'll have to check it out later since my work PC is giving me a hassle.
Nothing to it, but to do it
I've looked for a hard copy, but haven't found one yet. I'll post a link if I find one.

I sent it to my mom. I can't tell you how many times she has told me that when I'm her age I'll have both knees replaced. She also convinced me that going to bed with wet hair makes me sick; to wait :30 after eating to go swimming; and that gum will stay in my stomach for seven years if I swallow it.

Are we related some where?
I can´t remember how many times when I talk about my sport of tris and running, so many people mention the thing about the knees, the hips, the spine....and so on....
I try to my patients to encourage them after a good medical check up, a consult with the orthopedist if necesary, to start running even better if is tris, but to get active.
Joint damage from my medical point of view more than anything is a excuse in the popular culture to stay more indoors, watch TV, and eat; every day there is more and more scientific evidence that running does not destroy your joints.
People more than anything are afraid to run, because most of them think it is the most boring and "dumb" activity possible.... But with a bit of a knowledge, maybe some music (like me), a nice path to run on, and good attitude, running is the best tool to keep our bodies and minds in the best shape possible.
If you add the swimming and the riding to the mix....even better ;-)
I am so glad to have that piece of video to show to some people, friends and patients of mine, so they will feel more at easy to start thinking to put the shoes on and get going.
I am even more glad that my dad who is aproaching 60, so is my mom, are both in the same van wagon with me, and they look better than ever....!!!!
Thanks so much diluzio123 for sharing that video piece!!!
