Olympic Distance Taper-Templates
I do a 1 week taper for an A Olympic race:
Monday: 2000m total swim (w/ 4x200m at race pace)
Tuesday: 30 minute run (sub-race pace effort, with 5x1 minute intervals above race pace in middle 15 minutes, ~90 sec rest between)
Wednesday: 75 minute flat bike with 3x5 minute over race pace efforts, spin easily at high cadence the rest of the time.
Thursday: 1500m total swim, long strokes...easy effort, broken up however
Friday: Off
Saturday: Early morning 2 mile easy run (could be done Friday evening and off day switched depending on travel/work/etc...)
Sunday: Race
Lot's of stretching every day...just did this last week and it worked pretty well for me (20+ min PR)
While most plans don't identify by name the taper week, any good plan designed to take you right up to race day will have a taper in it. Just look at the week or two right before the race, and you'll see reduced volume and good intensity. For example, the olympic plan on here has it in the last couple days before the race.

I have seen so many posts and questions on here about the right tapers and suggestions, but I don't seem to find many post that give examples or templates for people to work off of. So this thread is not only for me, but also for all the others I've seen asked about the right taper for their race and so on.
So this thread is for people to post there OLYMPIC DISTANCE TAPER schedule for an A Race (goal race) or a B Race (less important race), just identify which it is. Don't post your tapering sob stories, your opinions on how you should taper, or you’re HIM or IM taper; maybe I'll start another thread on a sprint taper, HIM, and IM taper. But for now, just post your Olympic taper plan, day by day, what you would do for your Olympic Distance race. Describe your taper plan (ex: I do a 2 week taper or 1 week taper consisting of: Monday: yada yada yada, Tuesday: Blah blah blah, so on and so forth)
I think you get the point, and if there is something like this on here (I couldn't find it) I apologize. I hope this helps everyone who has asked about tapers and what they should do, as well as myself.
