Talking about Brick today.
Awesome... it sounds like you've had a confidence builder. Yeah... 45 seconds is a decent bike to run transition. Good luck in the tri and post a race report!

Don't know how you timed your 45 secs, which is good, but remember they usually time your transitions with a little running involved from the start and end of the transition area. So be don't disappointed with a 1 min or so.
Timed my transition with a small amount of jogging and begging my dog to move so I could put on my shoes. She thought I was there to play. If I can hit a 2 min during the race I'll actually be happy. First triathlon so I am looking forward to finishing but didn't want to get in anyones way while trying to finish.

Well I turned a Brick in today. Simply a bike run with no swim. Trying out my new tri-suit to make sure nothing felt odd before my first tri a week from next Sat.
I took the bike fairly easy, 8 miles in 28 mins. Then I hopped off for my run and now have decided that I will not do bricks from home anymore. The 50 yard dead uphill sprint about made me pass out. I always notice it when I leave for runs but have always attributed it to my older legs.
At any rate after that I eased into my run and all the swimming I have been doing here in the last few weeks must be helping my lung capacity. I thought I was running slow. But when I got home I had turned my 3.7 mile course in 32 mins. flat. Which is fast for me currently as even when my race times for 5ks was in the 21 min range it took me 28 or so to run this course.
So I am now pumped and think my first sprint tri should be in the 1:15 - 1:20 range and that will put me in the front 50% of competitors. Totally awesome for starting out this spring at 220 lbs and having the ability of a rock to swim.
Oh and can someone tell me if a transition from Bike to Run of about 45 secs. is decent as that is what I timed in and out today on the watch.
