First Marathon this Saturday
Wow thats great good luck to you.
PAIN IS TEMPORARY, PRIDE IS FOREVER!
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't you are right!
Good luck! Great race in my former hometown! Remember to drink at every station. The real race starts at mile 20. I used the Galloway method of walking 1 minute for every 8 minutes of running at the Huntington Beach Marathon two weeks ago and I had fresher legs at mile 20 than ever before. Good luck and have a great race!!!
awesome. good luck!
I look forward to reading your race report and hearing how you did.
That's great John! Now R~E~L~A~X! The most important thing you can do now is to TRUST YOUR TRAINING! The last taper week is always the toughest...You've cut back your mileage so now you have even more time on your (nervous) hands...Take a few deep breaths and go rent some movies that you have been wishing you had time to watch! Dust off that book that you have been meaning to read...Take some leisurely walks with family members! And don't forget to continue to stretch even though you are not putting in the higher miles. As far as carbo loading, upping your percentage of carbs (not necessarily upping your overall calories) in the last 48 hours should do the trick. Be sure to hydrate enough throughout the week. Stay off of your feet a bit more than usual...Organize your bag for race day...And hang out on your friendly tri forum! :p
Best of luck and I can't wait to read your report!
It's worth repeating one more time...TRUST YOUR TRAINING...
Best of Luck, PJ!
Wish I was in Texas to join you.
Minus 10 degrees tonight!!

Good luck bro!! I can't put it any better that Scout did. Just put one foot in front of the other and remember that you only get to do your 1st marathon once, so enjoy it!!

Hello Fellow Trifuelers,
I am doing my first marathon this Saturday. It is the Cowtown Marathon in Fort Worth, TX. Anyone else here doing it or any of the other races that day (half marathon, 10k, or 5k)? I am very, very nervous. I have been having trouble eating since Sunday. My stomach is in knots.
