Training Help Please
I don't think it would hurt to practice it a week before for that short a distance. Normally I would say 2 weeks out would be better, but in a supersprint, you should recover quickly anyways.
I did a practice tri before my first sprint about 2-3 weeks before. I don't do full practice tris anymore, just bike/run bricks now. But, I thought it was helpful b/c even though I knew i could do the distance in each leg, getting the feel for doing them together did great things for my confidence level. GL
Thanks jsk
I don't see a problem with doing it, I just wouldn't do it at race pace.

Are you doing that Super Sprint in Chicago in 2 weeks? Honestly if you're in decent shape and you've taken care of your training you should be fine. I found that I was prepared for my 1st tri even though i felt like I wasn't ready at all.
I'm doing the on in Rondeau Provincial Park, ON. I've been training harder than the actual race so i think i will be alright and i'm looking forward to having fun :) only 5 more days
do the distances at a reduced effort, and do the transitions at a race effort.
at another time, practice the transitions. don't be afraid to go through a transition and stop turn around and do it again (def. do it as a whole process - don't stop halfway and restart)
this will help your confidence of setting up your transition area and give you a process to use during your race

It is a short enough distance that you should recover quickly if you do it at a reduced effort. Good luck!!
Nothing to it, but to do it

Hey everybody
I'm new to trifuel and i've been reading all over the forums for information to help me in my first triathlon coming up next saturday. As i said this is my first triathlon and I was wondering if it would be wise to do a practice triathlon one week before the actual race. The race is 375m swim/ 10km bike/ 2km run. I have been doing regular training and i would like to combine it all and see how i do. I am going to be doing a 400m swim/11km bike and 2km run and time myself. I plan on getting lots of sleep/ rest this week leading up to race day. I'm 17 so my body does recover quickly. What do you think i should do?
