I figured it out - I can't get the allocation for the Hawaii slots to open - has anyone been able to do so?

Website... if you go to www.ironmancozumel.com it will give you a link that will let you register at active.com. I am still ridining high too! I woke up this morning @ 5:00 and literally went from dead sleep to feet to the alarm clock all the way across my room in two of those annoying *BEEP* things.

Do you know if the run course is supposed to be flat or not? It discusses the bike being flat, but not the run course.

The whole island is flat as hell! This will be a very fast course literally no hills on the entire island. My family used to vacation there when I was in grade and middle school.

That is the link for slot allocation as far as how many are allowed I think its considered a normal international ironman qualifier so top 3 for age groupers?

Cool - thanks. Talking to my coach about it now - I was going to try and get into Florida, but I've heard it's really difficuly to register unless you are actually there. so Cozumel sounds like a great alternative.

Good luck in your training!

way to take the plunge! i felt the same way when i signed up for HIM Florida. Receipt is on the fridge, so I can't forget, and I check the listing of entries periodically to make sure it's really true. I picked Dizzy World because I thought the fam would find it fun, and it's FLAT!

Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left

I have heard the 19th is for reg through the Ironman site, but that the race site itself does have a link already up for the active.com registration.

I decided to tease myself by going through the active.com signup steps. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking "it would be great if I accidentally submitted all the info needed and it signed me up." Then active.com bombed at page 4 of 5 (before the submit page). Oh well, no accidental signups for me today. Guess I'll have to talk about it with my wife...

I'm off to check out the all-inclusive resorts around Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and of course Cozumel. I'm going to need ammo when I ask the boss, and I better be well informed on travel costs and local shopping hotspots. Wish me luck.

No difference from what I understand, just that the race made it available now but the "official announcement" type thing is later. I could be totally wrong though :)
