Tall girl with big boobs -What to wear for 1st tri?
I'm not huge by any means but I have to wear a sports bra under my tri top....doesn't bulk things up IMO. I'd prefer to have an extra layer and be kept in one place then have the twins choosing their own directions.
Definitely a sports bra is the way to go. I have a one-piece tri suit that doesn't have a built in bra (it's made by Tyr) and then I just wear sports bra under it. Very comfy, no bounce. For longer distance races, I wear a longer tri top and a sports bra + shorts. A Speedo + sports bra + shorts would be a fine combo too. If you're going to wear a cycling jersey, I'd pull it on in transition, not wear it in the swim. Anything under a wetsuit with too much material will bunch up and chafe. Without a wetsuit it would be too much drag.
Be prepared that triathlon sizing is ridiculous. I am only a size 10 in regular women's clothes, usually a medium but wear an L or XL in most triathlon gear. I've always wondered what they expect women who are taller or bigger will wear??? Silly!

Absolutely. If KitKat, divamom, and jtrimom got to "ooh" and "aah" over UFTriGator (poor, poor UFTriGator, treated like meat), then we manly men with shaved legs get some pics.

um, my bike photo, and full cleavage are on display in the gallery (sorry about the shadows). as for matt, treated like meat? meat in my house goes in the bottom drawer to rot. matt on the other hand is inspected daily.
and to OP, go with the sports bra under whatever you choose.

for my 1st tri, I wore a sports bra under my bathing suit, then just put on bike shorts in transition- that worked well. Now I have the 1 piece trisuit by tyr (that ironmom was describing) w/ a sports bra underneath for the whole race. I used to be bigger and when I started training, the girls went 1st (how unfair is that)...and as for pics, I would have some cleavage pics, but I found that wasps are attracted to vnecks in aero position so I won't be wearing that anymore
...and as for Matt being treated like a piece of meat, I don't know the guy, (although if I could get his stats, that would be great), but if he's like most men I know, he is taking his speedo post- w/ all the responses and posting it at work, at home and showing it off at the bar or wherrever he hangs out. Just something I was thinking about on my long ride...hmmm matt
Check out DeSoto where you can mix and match top to bottom. Very comfortable, I'm 6' also, and have great big man boobs.
Well, I guess it depends on if your first tri is the Man Tri or not. If its the Man Tri, well, then the less you wear, the better. If its a regular tri, then, I imagine the other comments above might make sense.

To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!
Hey, ya post Speedo pics in the forum, you've gotta expect a response like that. Matt can be Mr. January in just about any triathawoman's Men of Tri calendar...
As for cleavage pics- none here, but just your average 40 year old Ironmom, going swimming with my kids, pre-race...

and one for the archives, this is the outfit I actually wore IN A RACE in 1989, LOL. Baggy neon shorts and all...

i'm not sure the average 40 year old mom has such rockin biceps

I think the answer is simple, you should wear nothing! J/k. Hilarious title, sounds like a CL add or something.
Go with a sports bra underneath. You might also want to wear the tri shorts the whole time -- putting them on when wet will be a pain.
And no harassing for pictures! Matt brought it on himself :)

You mean like this?

My Photoshop skills are the suck.

awww... I guess Ironmom did bring some sharks on herself ;) But that is still just an awesome picture.
TriSooner, you are the KING of photoshop!
that's cool.

I'm 5'8" with the same, uh, challenge when it comes to making the twins behave. I wear DeSoto one piece suits, no built in bra, with a sports bra underneath. I like that the one-piece suit is snugger on top (vs. just the tri top) w/o being too tight - zips up the back which I prefer. Don't wear your bike jersey swimming. I have seen gals do the double-bra layering action, I think a better sports bra is the answer to that, but to each her own.

Depends on the sports bra. I don't want to move at all and hence wear the two under the DeSoto one piece. Emilo use to make the tops I wear. However, the catalog has changed a lot and don't mix well with the bigger girls on top. You need to see what works for you. (My pic has two under the desoto one piece)

So who is going to start the official "Ladies of Trifuel Calendar Audtions" thread?.. haha.

I'm very unsure of what to wear for my first tri in Sep. because I don't have a typical cyclist/swimmer/runner body. I'm 6'0" tall and very curvy (I usually wear a 16 or XL in regular clothes). I just purchased a one-piece Speedo swimsuit and was hoping to just pull a pair of tri shorts over it for the bike/run, but I feel like I might bounce myself silly as the support is not sufficient for a 5k run. I have a great sports bra I usually wear to run in, but all the tri clothing comes with built-in bras and I feel like I'll be too bulky with a double bra. Plus, my height makes it difficult to find women's tops that don't ride up over my belly button. Is a one-piece suit my best option? I wear men's cycling jersey's for the length, should I just swim in one of those with my bra?
Thanks for any help you can offer, I'm so excited to find this forum!
