Suunto GPS Pod
I don't have the Suunto GPS pod, but I did a lot of reading on the T6 recently as I am looking to replace my Garmin 405. Maybe this will help you.
My impressions are that the T4/T6 GPS pod is a GPS like any other, although some reported that it does not pick up as fast as the Garmin 405. As a GPS unit, it will have trouble under heavy cover such as trail running in a dense forest or, reportedly, running in cities like NY or Chicago with tall buildings. My 405 does not lose the signal until the trees get very dense, although it can have a hard time picking up a sigal intitially while I am under tree cover.
Something for you to think about: All GPS units do a poor job of providing instantaneous pacing but provide good overall run pacing and length of run. The footpods are typically recommended for those who want/need instant pacing. I would use the T4/T6 with the foot pod before the GPS pod because of this.
As for the bike, I wear my GPS when on the bike so I can record the route but I much prefer my bike computer for its data over the data the watch can provide (I don't have a bike pod for the watch though, so maybe it would be different if I did).
Here are some links to read up on the Suunto:

Does anyone have any experience with th Suunto T series GPS pod? I have the T4 watch and am debating on whether or not to purchase it. I'm a little reluctant because I can't find any info, positive or negative, about it. I'm concerned that it will drop in and out on either a ride or a run and that I might just be better off buying the bike pod instead.
