Marine in VA moving to CA

Awesome Dave,
Glad you decided to park yourself here, welcome!
Sounds like you've done some research and committed to learning new techniques. I've heard good things about TI and Pose, though haven't really dug into them too deeply myself. Keep us posted on how those methods work out for you. There are quite a few other here on TI and a few Pose advocates.
On the $2K, wait til she sees those muscular shaved legs . That'll get her support :) And probably wanting to join you!
You'll love monterey for training. Good rides, open water swims, and a lot of races. try to get involved with Pacific Grove, early September I believe. Nice race along coast.

I have not been able to put a razor to my legs yet....it is the Nazarite vow I am bound by. :D

After stumbling around for a good forum, I finally found one!
I just starting tris after a series of frustrating running injuries due to overtraining after a marathon. I have been working on flexibility, strength and balance over the last six months in Iraq. (Snipers are not conducive to training outdoors.) I am trying the Pose Method in an attempt to reduce future injuries. Ironically, I injured myself learning to "Pose"! I am studying the Total Immersion method as well.
Goals:
1. Sprint in April
2. Find a bike (and convince my wife why spending $2K on a bike is a good idea)
3. Halfs or full ironman in fall
4. Swim, ride, run for the Marine Corps triathlon team in a couple years
So, if anyone is in the Quantico, VA area for the next couple of months and would like to train, please let me know. I am moving to Monterey, CA this summer and I will be looking for a partner there as well.
