i just finished a HIM (steelhead) that i had been training for all summer. I took a week off after that and just biked easy for 20-40 minutes each day. I am training for some 5k-8k's in the fall, plus the chicago marathon later in the fall, but i'm less worried about that and more worried about just getting back running 6-7 days a week.
How ambitious should i be in my getting back into running a lot? I had been doing my long runs for the HIM. Originally i was planning on hitting around 30 miles this week, 40 the next week, and 45-55 after that depending on how i feel the previous two weeks. but after doing a lonely 5 miler today i felt lazy. Since i'm still in shape from tri season would it hurt me to push everything forward a week and do 40ish this week, 50 next week, and 55-60 the week after? I come from a strong running background, if that's any help. I'm sure someone on here has dealt with this before, thanks in advance for the help.

take it really easy this week sounds like a little bit of burnout after a big race. Have fun recharge your batteries then when you're ready go nuts. don't force it remember this is fun not a job
