Sutton and Wellington interviews
That woman is a phenom. I realllllly hope shes not doping. Her win has to have inspired every weekend joe that has a decent swim to think they could be an ironman champ with just a few years of training.
Weary is the path that does not challenge.
As the articles mention, the STI and drop bar setup is for Chrissie's bike handling issues. If you are racing a technical course and won't be spending much time in the aero position then this might be a good solution. If you are racing IM Florida, probably not.
I know a lot of folks that race IM's pretty fast and prefer something like the Cervelo Soloist with clip-ons and STI shifters, where you can adjust seat angle easily between tri and road geometry. I like bikes a lot, so I prefer having a different bike for each purpose!
didn't read them yet but she is on a friggin tear just came in second OVERALL for tri up the Alp D' Huez (spell?) I'm really hoping she isn't doping either.
So I'm thinking about that STI on TRI (I coined that phrase, it's mine) set up. My road bike is a POS 9speed Tiagra set up. My tribike is a sweet QR Tequilo with full DA.
But I ride the road bike most of the time for trainning because of the convenieince/safety of the STI in traffic. Why not be able to ride the nice bike more?

So has everybody read these interviews on ST?

I immediately thought to myself "well heck, if some really fast people are riding STI shifters on tri bikes maybe I should too!" and then I thought "Well my buddies at ACME tri bike company surely know what they are doing"
STI shifters on tri bikes... from God or the Devil? .... Go!
