Snacks
I like combos - bananas and almonds, carrots and cheese, apples and yogurt, cottage cheese and pineapple or peaches. I like the combo of salt/sweet.

I like combos too...Natural peanut butter and a sliced banana; soy chips with a small handful of almonds; whole wheat English muffin with natural pb; Powerbars; Balance bars; and I like to eat a cup of whole wheat Total cereal (good source of iron) with skim or soy milk (although there has been some discussion of soy effecting the aborption of iron).
If I am looking for a pick-me-up kind of snack, I like to combine a protein and complex carb.
If I am looking at a preworkout snack, I stick with the complex carb. I often just suck down a GU before and between brick workouts.
I'll be watching this thread for some more ideas! :)
Almond butter and apples or celery. Carrot sticks and hummus.
Then the quick snack stuff mostly clif bar or tigersmilk (i think that's the name - peanut butter and honey chocolate protein bar)


I was wondering what is your favorite healthy snack? Are you a powerbar fan? Fruit and veggie lover? I'd like to mix up my snacks between my larger meals - currently I snack on fruits like bananas, raisins, grapes, and grapefruit (although that's too messy at work), carrots, and different bars - nutrigrain, nature valley, powerbar, etc.
