Just interested to hear what people think about this. Obviously he is a different breed than most but I still can't imagine doing that.

It is not impossible, I think he should do pretty good.

Check out Joe Bonness http://ironjoe3.triathletesonline.com/
He has done several IM events in a month, and he is a top finisher too.

Nothing to it, but to do it

The two races are Frankfurt and Roth. He has a little blurb about it on his home page. I'm sure he'll still be in fine form for Kona.

He won IM Germany, but did not finish Roth

Paula Newby Fraser did three a week apart from each one ( I think it was). Her husband and coach, Paul said that it had really pushed her. She had trained with Mark Allen on rides and was really pushed hard.

(I read the above in the book)

i heard on ironman talk podcast he was contractually obligated to "start" roth. macca commented in other interviews as well that he would only race roth if he was feeling strong. there is no way way he would risk injury for kona. cant wait!

After I saw him go sub-8 at Germany, I imagine he could whatever he wants. Absolutly sick speed.

He showed up to Roth and did the swim and a little over half the bike. More a publicity thing and to fulfill contracts though. Basically used it as a long training session.

Now here's what i wonder, since he knew he'd be dropping out most likely, do you think he crushed it on the swim and first portion of the ride to see if he could effect other racers gameplans, I'm sure it would have that effect, especially on the swim.
