WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am out this year. I messed up and planned a vacation during the race week so I will not be here. We do plan to make the trip up next year to sign up again.

First post. I will be at IM for the week on vacation (staying with family) and will volunteer at the bike transition from 11.30a till 5.30p. I plan to do some training the following week.
I just started doing triathlons this year after having done a fair bit of running in the last 4 or 5 years. I signed up for a half-iron next year and would eventually like to do the full in Penticton in the near future. 2009 seems a little close, so most likely it will be in 2010.

I probably won't be up there until Saturday, I think we're driving up on Friday. I'll be with a group of people but will make sure to forward on my mobile# and tri to connect at some point. I'll be volunteering at T1 bag and gear check and will probably rock some kind of costume or wig...just depends.

Usual thing is to meet like Friday or Saturday morning at the peach for a swim and then go for breakie/coffee. We usually meet btwn 7 and 8am for the swim and have a group photolike this:

You gonna come up and register next year? you can always fly out here and drive up with us if you want. It's about a 6 hr drive not counting boarder crossing, which isn't bad if you go up over through Osyoos and not over here on this side (LOTS of people goin to and from Vancouver).

My wife Dana is racing. She is in great shape. I can't go this year and will be at home with the kids. I've been up there with her for the past 2 years in a row. This is the first year I have to miss it ;-(( I hope all of you have great races.

Hey, I've been away for a few days at Seaside OR with the family starting taper and it looks like Britt and PoC are battling it hehehehe. It's true Britt no running away, we will not let you forget the fact that you and Tony are not going to be there to race again. I hope that your diet is working! We'll miss you.
Looka like alot of people coming. Looks like 2010 is gonna be a great year! We really should set up something in the next few days for the meeting this year and get a big group shot. Hope to see there Tribro!

Hopefully all IMCers are reading this thread cuz I don't really want to start a new one, but I just wanted to let everyone know that Gatorade will still be doing morning swims this year. Thursday, Friday, Saturday 7am-10am at the peach. And I will be the one manning the tent, so everyone should come and at least say hi!!

The race attendance icons on the event page weren't overly helpful, so I ask generally who among you are coming to Penticton on the 24th for Ironman Canada?
I'm camping for the 3 days Friday, Sat., Sunday, and going home after the awards dinner.
