The 36-week Ironman Plan
I am using it now for general guidance. Although I do not stick to the plan to a T, it has been good for giving workout ideas...I am not sure the average Age Grouper would be able to do all the work outlined....(meaning time commitment, not ability). I use it in conjunction with a book and my own thoughts and ideas...definitely use it for some help!
Macker
i stuck to it about 75% for ironman cda 2008. It was my first ironman and I finished in 11:09
I used it for my HIM and just mellowed the bigger stuff. I took 23m off my total time from last year and took 45s off my kilometre pace running plus 10m off my bike leg. I also have been riding stronger than in the past few years and won a couple of sprint tri's. It's got a big chunk of intensity when you need it, but really gets you ready. I had a personal coach last year that really didn't work as well as that program and a combination of my common sense and experience. I reccomend it.
I used this for IMKY last year. My first ironman as well (11:02). I liked it so much I am using it again this year. I don't follow the swims as I have a great masters swim team, but I follow the bike and run workouts almost exactly.

Was just browsing through the 36-week IM plan that's linked here on TriFuel (http://www.trifuel.com/triathlon/ironman-workouts/). Looks very thought out with a great deal of detail. Has anyone tried it out? Good results?
