First Tri in almost 4 years
how long is it?
Olympic Distance
i most of the time take two gu's on the bike maybe three. I bring a half bottle of gatorade, and an aero bottle full of water. Don't forget about transitions either. Usually you can save quit a bit of time if you just practice them once or twice. Even getting quick laces for your shoes is a small investment ($3-8) and you will look like a pro from day one. Dont forget a towel in transition to wipe off your feet. Bring sunscreen. Bring a hat for the run, sunglasses for the bike. Hope that helps! Just a few little things to make things go smoother.
Hey Luke,
I just did my first tri in July. (Lifetime olympic distance in Minneapolis). I made pretty much every mistake possible and had some bad luck on top of that but I just focused on having fun. I did use two gu's on the bike which gave me some extra energy though. I also did two bottles of half gatorade/ half water throughout the ride.
Side note, are you doing any other tri's in MN this year? I am looking to continue with this sport but feel like a good training partner or some motivation at times wouldn't hurt.

I am a little nervous and totally excited about competing this weekend. It will be first tri in nearly five years. Any advice from you folks out there will be much appreciated. Any suggestions on what type of food, if any, I should bring to munch on during the last half of the bike. Or, is a shot of Gu or something like that enough?
I am not making this an A or a B tri but rather a training day event to really make myself hurt. I would still like to do well but mostly I am just going to concentrate on not making a fool of myself and make sure I do the little things well like concentrate on form.
Also any other trifuel members going to the Turtleman in MN this weekend look me up hope to see some of you there.
Luke
