I know there is one here on this site (which I appreciate) but I was wondering if there are any other places to download an Ironman 36 week program......

Nothing to it, but to do it

yeah, visit your library and borrow relevant copies of Triathlete magazine.
It has been chock full of training programs for all distances.

Thanks I think I am going to use the HIM plan and just double the distance?? Does that make sense?

No. It would not be the best plan -- they are very different races and intensities and such are different as well. What doesn't work for you with any of the other plans suggested?

Most of the suggested plans are hard to print out; I don't want to have to print 45-50 pages of material for the plan. I like the excel spreadsheet type of plan that gives me the whole plan on 1-2 pages that just shows me the day, type of workout (s/b/r) then the amount of time. I don't want to have to visit these sites everyday. I guess it's just the strange format of these plans that has me looking around still. Any suggestions Kylie, what plan did you go off of for your Ironman?

Triathlon Training Bible has some sheets you can copy and then you can design your hours based on what training you want to do in each sport. There are charts and suggestions in the book to arrange your calendar. If you want to print something out that says (ie) you do this each day and tweek it for you, it cost money. However, as mentioned, triathlete magazine does have those types of plans.

As Kylie mentioned though don't double a half training plan. Bad idea.

Trigirltina2-

Thanks for the adivce; I'm glad I didn't make that mistake of doubling up on the HIM plan.

IM is about getting the mileage in to go the distance race day. Hope it is helpful. Read people's training logs here on the site and ask questions when trying to tweek your plan. You can gain a lot from the community.

You are welcome.

I have used a couple different strategies ranging from the "fly by the seat of my pants" plan to a great plan developed for me by my coach. The second had much better results ;) The plan and training are really important to me and I don't mind that being where I spend some of my money. A great bike is nothing without the engine....

You could always take the info from the plan and just make a spreadsheet based on it, or look into some of the books recommended.
