I am really unsure about what to wear for my 1st 1/2 Ironman. A one-piece tri-suit is the most comfortable for the swim/bike but it's a Zoot one-piece with a built-in bra and taking it off to use the bathroom would take 5-10 minutes (seriously!) and I am thinking with a goal of a 6-7hour finish that I am going to need the bathroom at some point!

So I am thinking of changing to something different at T2 but are tents usually set up for complete disrobing?

I know I am thinking too much, I would love to hear what other people have done. Thanks!!

It depends on the race -- some have change tents at T2, and some don't.

this was my first year doing HIMs; I wore a two piece trisuit and really liked it - comfortable for the swim and bike, particularly handy for those "blue loo" visits on the run...I would think a one piece would be great for an Olympic distance or less but personally, knowing my digestive system, the 2 piece is a must for a HIM...changing in T2 isn't something I'm keen on - my transition times are slow enough as it is!! Enjoy your race...

I have a one piece trisuit that doesn't have an attached bra (I wear a sprts bra underneath) and that's comfortable and not such a pain for potty breaks (it's just like taking off a swimsuit)

I always wear 2 pieces for my IMs and my HIM. Easier for the reason above (big potty, and if you cannot bring yourself to pee on yourself, but that is another post entirely). The HIM I just did had no place to change. Personally I would not ever wear a full one piece for that distance, but just me.

Typically no, not in the U.S. And if you are shooting for 6, 7 hours, the one-piece is a bad idea unless you are comfortable peeing while riding (which I recommend, BTW, to save time). But if you need the blue loo for other needs, you'll have to totally drop trow = slow you down. Go with full cycling shorts from start to finish.
