Steelhead 70.3
I'll be there - anyone have any info/advice on this course?
I did steelhead last year, it was my first tri, and is the only tri i have ever done (i loved it, but i enjoy training more than racing, races are expensive and too stressful). I didn't think the bike course was too bad, a few hills, but mostly rollers. The run course had two major hills (i think) one around mile one, and one near the end.
the website has elevation charts

if you have any specific questions i'd be glad to answer them. I found last year very beginner friendly.
I'll be there melting with you and everyone else, temp are going to be in the low 90's. Two other from MN are coming also.
F.Y.I. They had to change the bike course last week because the road we are on was torn up. Not sure if that's posted on the site yet.

Ill be there. It's my first half so ill be happy to break under 6hrs if that happens. Ill be sporting my TriFuel visor for the run and probably before the race.
Gonna be camping about 10 minutes from the race site, as its much cheaper and closer than any hotels i could get (since im a procastinator). Any one else doing the same?

I'll be going off in wave 16, over an hour and a half after the elites. A bit annoyed my start time is 8:30 and transition closes at 6:30. More annoyed that I'll be driving up from Chicago that morning, and have to leave an hour earlier than planned to accommodate for the time difference. But thank you Steelhead organizers for mentioning that in their last email. I definitely would have shown up late otherwise.
I'll be there... Leaving Charlotte this afternoon and heading on up to the "great white north." Can't wait to race in the "cooler" temps! It has been a scorcher down here. Not sure what wave I'm in but I'm in the 35-39 group.
Safe racing and I'll see you up there.
Brad
I'll be there.... is anyone else worried about the heat forecasts?
A bit. I think the was on my bike chain is going to melt...

I expect detailed RRs from everyone since I'll be doing it next year. GL
I will be there cheering on all of the Trifulers and anybody else doing the race:) I am taking notes too, since this race is on my " to do list." Good luck to everybody. Hoping for cooler temps and quiet water.
I checked this morning and the high on Saturday is only supposed to be 81. We'll see how much that fluctuates in the next few days (yesterday it said lower 90s)
anyone have a list of when each wave starts? i am in wave 9 and i completely forgot to check when that is. i know i have to be off the bus by 5:45 anyways, but i'd love a more accurate idea of my start time.
Thanks, and good luck to anyone else racing tomorrow
edit- oh, and does anyone know if what time the busses run until, it says 5:45, but 6:45 makes more sense to me, i can't figure out why they would cut off the busses at 5:45.

Anyone else doing steelhead 70.3 this weekend?
