Regular TV Tri Coverage
Thats great!! I'm always looking for Tri's on TV but never can find them. They are never on TV guides in advance it seems so I usually just randomly catch one if i'm lucky
I live in Baltimore and two out of the last three weekends (I was out of town one of those weekends), I've seen Escape from Alcatraz and X-Terra Worlds on our local sports station, MASN. Good stuff.
I tried to DVR the NYC Tri coverage, but must of messed up the setting and didn't get it. Anyone by chance see it, able to find a version of it out there on the web? It was on Fox at 2PM today.
To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!
i dvr'd it, but would not be able to figure out how to get it off the time warner box and onto my computer... anyone can tell me how to do that? if i could i'd be glad to share....
I was excited to see the Iron Girl coverage too. I wondered though who their target audience was. Were they hoping to attract current triathletes to their series, or to encourage people to try triathlon as a sport?
I didn't think the narration and race coverage would speak to many people thinking about training for their first race. It was a beautiful race course, and an amazing run by the woman who won it. I'm curious to see if more races will get air time.

I was so excited to see the NYC Tri on Saturday while I'm packing for my sprint on Sunday, and then once I get back from the sprint and I'm just hanging around, I hear "hey, turn on channel 4 (NBC)" where lo and behold is the ITU Championships! I'm sure the only reason NBC had it was because of the qualifying of the last US Olympic team spot.
Yes, I'm in MD area as well and the Xterra Championships and the Alcatraz Tri have both been on back to back several times the last few weeks. I'm actually kinda tired of seeing it! But this last weekend I did catch the Olympic Qualifying ITU Championships! It was a good race, I DVR's it and plan to watch it again. I can never find tri's on the guide before the day they come on, so I catch them when I can. Speaking of the ITU Chamionship, I'm glad any potts didn't get the last spot, I dont know why, but for some reason i don't like him. Kemper ran a good race though.
In Los Angeles, they air the Malibu Triathlon race on ABC a couple of times a year. It's just a small sprint race but a lot of celebrities participate.
I think I might have DVR'd it. I saw Triathlon and set it to record.
I have to chack when I get back from DC
Nothing to it, but to do it
So I got it - Party at Beads or dlhnpt's house to watch the DVR coverage of the NYC Tri! I was sad that I screwed up the DVR - my neighbor said that she thinks she saw me in the race. Of course I saw the pictures and while I looked pretty fresh on the bike - you can see my suffering on the run, in a big way. Maybe I don't want to see the coverage afterall. Maybe we'll just have the party anyway....

In New York, there will be a 1 hour show of coverage of the NYC Triathlon today (Fox I think) and I think on NBC they are doing a 1 hour show on Iron Girl!
Cool to have regular TV coverage, but seriously - two shows on one afternoon! That's crazy!
