NYC Triathlon Sunday 7/20
When is it? I am not racing but I would come cheer on some fellow Trifuelers!!!
I'm here and looking forward to it. I'm off at 7:42. I hope I'm not behind you Beads :)
Good luck with the race!
To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!
Did it. Aside from a mouthfull of Hudson river water, had a great day. Very fun.
How'd everyone do?
I was reading some race reports on another site and the racers reported about jelly fish stings. Jelly fish? In the Hudson? What the ...?
I did it - race report coming soon. I'll confirm the jelly fish. They stung. It hurt. More coming soon.

Yes there were Jellyfish and apparently several schools of them. Major suck factor.
Race was pretty good otherwise. Working on the race report today.
Met up with kd360 the day before. Sorry I missed you other guys.

Unfortunately, apparently there was a death in the water...

Overall the race was a good one.
Swim: no current in river so slower than last year and yes many red jellyfish. my body stung the whole swim and in transition. no red "marks " though on my body.
Bike: no problem. good hills. many flat tires and loose water bottles along the way. first race where I used clipon aerobars. big difference. much more comfortable and more power. 12 min quicker than last year.
Run: everyone was feelin the heat by this point. gradual hillon west side was interesting esp when the sun hit you between the trees. Suffering from ITBS so I had to walk along the way.
A few people had to be dragged across the finish line. There legs and body just gave out.....
Felt good to finish. 3:12 vs 2:48 last year. Taking care of this ITB then will be back.

I know this weekend is busy on the East coast with IM LP
(good luck Cayman!)
The NYC Tri is this Sunday. I know kd360 is doing it and I plan to meet up with him. Is anybody else doing this?
