A couple nights ago, I was flipping channels and came upon (I think) a Discovery channel sports science show- I don't remember exactly what it was...anywho...I missed the beginning, but they got this "average Joe" (but clearly he had trained) and took him to Kona and measured nutrition, sweat, and all this other stuff while he was racing. He apparently tore some tendon, ligament, something in his hip on or before the bike but continued, started having some trouble on the run, but kept on going- and finished...does anyone know what the program is? I would love to see it in full, but can't seem to find it
thanks

I wish I'd seen this episode! Every time I tune in, they're doing stick-and-ball sports... like hockey vs golf, which has the faster swing speed. :P

The premise sounds a bit like that Boston Marathon program on PBS a few years ago, I think it was Nova? They took a bunch of couch potatos and trained them in 9 months to do Boston. It was a pretty mixed result... one guy who was already running did well, but there was a lot of walking and suffering among the rest of them.

after the kids go to sleep, I become a couch potato for a couple hours before I go to sleep- flipping channels when nothing interesting is on, eventually leads me to discovery channel or food network
