My wife is going to San Diego at the end of July for a vacation for the week(lucky her), I was wondering if anyone in the area can recommend a good pool she could work out at(one that would allow a daily fee), I know this may be a stretch but I figured I would at least try and ask. She is staying downtown, and will have a rental car.(She's not the best swimmer, and none of her friends are swimmers, so i have persuaded her to stay away from the ocean, just for safety concerns and big scary creatures lurking in the water). Thanks

If you go to http://www.swimmersguide.com you can search based on the geographic area and find a listing of pools.

San Diego Tri Club has a message board on their site, and they actually have group swims and such (ocean, but I think pool as well). Perhaps check out their site?

The hotel I stayed at in Carlsbad once had a lap pool -- it was on Palomar Airport Road and Armada Dr: Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel. I know some locals had gym memberships to use it, but I don't know if they do daily passes. Could be worth a call though.

Tri club uses JCC - Lawerence Family Jewish Center in La Jolla. The tri club also swims Fletcher Cove Friday mornings and La Jolla Cove Friday night.

+1 Kylie great info on the board. http://www.triclubsandiego.org
