ok those transitions are just fakes :)
If I was going to fake any of my times, I would have picked the bike lol

49th place....that's me! :D
you probably hacked the site ;)
Seriously good job though on the race. It's hard when we don't live up to our own expectations, but it is a process. Do a race, nail a plan, and just with time and training you will improve, and the next plan will show that. Start hitting more climbs, see what your coach has to say about improving there, and just stick with it. In this sport it does just take time for some of us to really build to what we can do. Having years and years of miles (bike and run) in your legs can be a huge advantage, and no matter how well you trained and how much you improved that one just comes with consistency. You had a great race, and you hit your goals. It doesn't sound like you are new to this, but you are in a tough age group -- and a little dissatisfaction will just push you that much harder in training next time. Congrats on a strong day.
congrats have heard that is a hilly race. nice job w/ the transitions.
Dude, good job. I think you are going to be way ahead of me in NYC
Nothing to it, but to do it

You'll beat me in NY for sure....especially since I am not doing it. I am doing the Nation's Tri for my "Big City" race this year. Might do the NY next year. You'll have to let me know how the Hudson tastes first.
Good JOb!

I completed my 4th race of the season on Sunday. If you want the gory details click here:
As always there were some interesting things along the way.
If you can ride or view the course route (especially bike) do it. In this race there were two big climbs. First one was 5 miles long at the 3 mile mark and the second one was 2 miles long around the 20 mile mark. The race director said both were about 7% grades (ouch). On the backside of both hills, the big downhill ended into tight left turns. There were some major wipe outs and ambulances as people couldn't handle it. It made a big difference knowing what was coming to avoid catastrophe.
Due to the hills, many of the top guys rode rode bicycles instead of tri bikes. I also realized I am not much of a climber. I am usually one of the top bike guys on a flat course but I got my butt officially kicked on Saturday.
Sometimes at the water tables - it isn't always water in the water cups. It was a hot day - 92 and I like to pour water over my head to stay cool. I asked for water as I approached the table and a lovely volunteer handed me a cup. It turned out that I poured Gatorade or some other mixture over my head. Sweet and sticky. At the next table, I got two cups of water to take a quick running shower.
I think I have my transitions down cold.
