I have been doing some traveling this summer and I have been bringing my running shoes and clothes with me. It gives me a different perspective than just from my hotel room.

I started in St. Augustine, Florida a couple of weeks ago for vacation and enjoyed running on the beach and around town.

Last week I was in the Buckhead section of Atlanta Georgia for a few days.

My running partner so far has been my trusty iPod.

This week I am in Miami, Florida, and will be going to Palm Beach later today.

In 2 weeks I will be in Washington DC and the week of August 11th I will be hitting the West Coast and be in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

If anybody is in any of these areas and want to go for an early morning run, or evening run let me know.

Where in LA? Of course I want to meet you if it works out! I met Triguy the other day and told Mike how I'd know Charles longer than him ;)

SF might also be an option. I need to go up at some point for wedding stuff, but I'm not sure when it will be.

I think that's the thing I love most about running, though it's not my favorite of the three sports, it's very portable, and a great way to see other parts of the country or world, not from a tourist perspective. I have very fond memories of all of the places I've run in this world - through New Orleans at night, rice paddies in Japan, Yorkshire Dales at sunrise...

Too bad you're not heading to the best part of the West Coast, up here in Orygun ;-)

It was a thread http://www.trifuel.com/node/4410
My company decided we were not going to do training in our Dallas office this time around.

However, when I do my Texas marathon I was thinking of doing the Houston Marathon ;-)

Sweet! January is the PF Chang Rock N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. I'm planning on doing the Half...it's the best time of the year...around 50-60 degrees! :)

I did the full last year...weather was perfect for a marathon...course is easy too (basically perfectly flat). It was an ideal 1st mary for me.

And I'm not even gonna ask if you'll be in the midwest at all beads (Cincy, Louisville, Indy) b/c I'm sure these cities just aren't worthy.

My Plan is to do a Marathon in all 50 states (I'll have done 10 states and 22 mary by the end of this year) and a marathon on every Continent (2 so far)

I am looking to do the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincy (my oldest daughter loves pigs so I want to take the girls to this one and get some Pig Themed Schwag for her)
I haven't picked out a marathon for Indiana, or Kentucky yet but I will be taking suggestions in another thread. ;-)

Beads / Anton - we should target a run along the mall/downtown some morning. 17th street is close to it. We can run the monuments and stop by the White House for breakfast.

That sounds like the beginning of a plan.
I have to be dressed and in the office by 8:15 am, so we would have to start early. I have been out of my room and on the road running by 6:05 am since I have been traveling for work.
If we want to go in the early evening I should be done by 5 - 5:30 pm and I have some more leeway.

Super early might be cool on the Mall...Depends on traffic since I'll be going with. The wife knows the "secret" ways into DC though .Afternoons are out for me, but it wouldn't stop you guys.
and iamtb13...I run any distance, anywhere, anytime...It's just not fast...!

I too will run any distance, anywhere, anytime and not fast, but within some time contraints while I am on the road.

I am willing to do a run in the morning and the evening as well.
Let me know.

"Near" is a VERY relative term in LA... I'm like 20 miles out, but that could be a 2 hour drive on a bad day. I don't know that I could make it out there, but I'll see where I am when it gets closer... I'm leaving for NY again a couple of days later so it might be kind of hectic.

You guys do what works for you...things are sort of insane right now on my end...(although some will say their insane all the time on my end!)

Mon, Jul 28 Rail

To: WASHINGTON DC Arrives: 7:27pm

Wed, Jul 30 Rail
From: WASHINGTON DC Departs: 3:02pm
To: METROPARK NJ Arrives: 5:57pm

Evening of the 27th is possible but it would be later.
Morning and the evening of the 29th look like the best options
Morning of the 30th is good too but I will be leaving in mid-afternoon so that rules out evening on the 30th ;-P

Nemours Building
1007 Orange Street
Suite 1450
Wilmington, DE 19801

I might be there on the evening of July 30th and morning of July 31st

The address of our Dallas office is;

300 Crescent Court
Suite 800
Dallas, TX 75201

That is still tentative as well so I don't have dates for that yet.
I would be staying close to the office location.

Another morning run in Palm Beach. I went out around 6 am and it was still dark but the sun was just coming up. The sunrise was a great treat.

I had a great hotel room so it made the stay for work easier.
I was able to get in a short swim in the pool to cool down.

I'd love to join you fellas on the Mall, but have a feeling that your "slow" and my "fast" are probably still 1-2mpm apart! Dang, and I was hoping to move up in the 6 Degrees of Beads rankings.

This is a social thing for sure. Don't even worry about the pace. We will accomodate whoever shows up. We would only drop people if we were biking. ;)
