Good luck to fellow trifuelers participating in Amica Ironman 70.3
Good luck to you, too! Stuart and I are here and staying at the Courtyard Marriott downtown. This is a beautiful state, so we're hoping for a fun day tomorrow. He'll be all in black on the black Kuota. I'll be in all pink on the blue Orbea. Go Trifuel!!
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
I think I saw you today bro; what was your bib number?

What did you all think of the event? Besides my own performance (blew up on run), thought it was a great event and a cool course. It was weird to have two transitions, but all the logistics were seemless on race day as far as i could tell. Beautiful day for a swim bike run!
I liked it first HIM and I finished under 6 hours so I was happy; plus no flats...
That is great!
Hello - thought overall it was a good event - congrats to everyone! Nothing about the race was easy of course..ocean swim was choppy a bit, although i felt much better on the way back in...bike was real fast in some sections (must have had a huge tailwind), but the mid-section had some good hills! Run was rough too, especially that hill at mile 1/7!...but had a good time...congrats...

Yeah the ocean was choppy I thought I was going to get sick (Bad on amusement rides) That hill at miles 47 was a little rough and oh man that hill at 1/7 was a killer. I saw a guy in a wheelchair trying to get up it.
I saw him as well - when i did, it reminded me NOT to ever complain about being tired, having a tough spot in a race or how fast i will finish...hats off to him!!
Macker
Macker- I know right. When I passed him in the other direction I told him "Don't quit" and he yelled "Never" it sent a shiver down my spine.

I saw several folks mentioning their participation in this event over the past few months. I will be there, and it is my first HIM event.
Good luck to all. If you see the long haired guy on the Xlab Avenger, after a fair swim and before the mediocre run, say hi.
Be safe and have fun.
