I thought that I was going to try to buy a bike bag for my new Tri-Bike but Iam just going to stuff my things in the back on my Tri jersey. Anyone else do this?

I have an X-Lab hydration wing where I hold my tubes, CO2 and 2 water bottles. Besides that, tire levers, gel and everything else goes in my jersey.

I don't own a jersey with pockets yet (that fits me), so I use a seat bag. But I carry quite a bit of crap, so I don't know if I'd want it in my jersey pockets. I also like being able to leave it on my bike (I don't have to wash it) and I never have to worry if I forgot to put something in my pocket.

I have a seat bag with CO2, tubes, Align wrench and $5 (spelling?) Other stff in the jersey or bento box. I have seen people use one of the water holds on tri bag for their bag. (racing & training)

My spare tire straps to the seat...Co2,nozzle, spare valve extender, light weight box cutter go in a little bag that I put in my jersey. Tried the X-lab thing for several seasons...In the jersey is more old school and cleaner lines.

I guess I am going to kick it old school; those bags have a hard fitting on my Cervelo bike post. And I don't think it will be a problem in my shirt.

I use the X-lab Flat wing too. I load that up and have a seat bag if I am out on a training ride.
If I am doing a sprint tri I don't pack a lot but have a spare tube.
I pack more as the race distance gets longer.

Nothing to it, but to do it

I have the P2C and find that the Beaker Hydro Tail is perfect for hydration AND as an attachment for my bike bag.

www.beakerconcepts.com/index.php?page=npg&pt=HydroTail&itemid=1

Scroll about half way down, and you'll see the one made just for the cervelo. (ever notice those little holes that seem perfect for mounting something?)

I attach it with the flat part at the bottom (like the lower photo) and strap my bike bag to the bottom of the hydo tail. and just leave the front strap off (as it wont reach around the seatpost and I dont think I'd want it to.)

hope this helps.

I like having it all in a bag on my bike so that it is just always there and I don't have to think about it until I need it. Some women's jerseys also have small pockets and I often need the room on longer rides for other things like cell phone, gel, inhaler.

After lots of monkeying around with the x-lab stuff and having issues with the straps breaking, then rigging my own holder system using spare ponytail holders and duct tape, and then most recently an old water bottle on the downtube which wouldn't hold enough stuff, I'm now using this thing.

Sits in a cage on my downtube and easily fits two tubes, a few cartridges, an inflator, tyre lever, etc.. It is especailly great for long distance training and racing.

I stuff everything in my camelbak if I'm going a long way (60+ miles). If I'm not going far, there's a credit card in my shorts, and there's always a tube and co2 taped below my seat.

For a road ride, I keep a small multi-tool, 2 tire levers, a tube and CO2 strapped between 2 bottles at the rear with electrical or duct tape (cuz duct tape will fix anything my tools can't) - everything else goes in the pockets. - Cell phone, ID, cash, banana, GU etc. I've been doing this forever, so it's very normal/comfortable for me.

Off road it all goes in the Camelback. I love that thing.

A couple of you mentioned this $5 bill.
Is that for when you meet up with the ice cream truck?

yes
or as a tire boot if your tire gets a tear

so when you do finally break down and use the cash for a snowcone (hmmmmm!), you've got to remember to stock it back up for the next ride

My jersey is usually loaded up with my phone, camera, cliffbars, and a small first-aid kit, so there's not much room for spares and such. I prefer to keep those in a Pedro's blowout bag below the seat... I actually want to get a bento box for my camera so that it's one less thing in the jersey...
