For mine the straw has 2 parts: a hard plastic part and a softer plastic extension. The hard one I left alone, the softer one I didn't cut but just slide farther down over the hard plastic one if I want it lower.

I probably cut 3-4" off at least. Just cut a little at a time until you're happy with where it is located.

Cool thanks; didn't know the "proper" placement where the straw should be while in aero

I set mine up so that if I am aero it is easy to grab with my mouth and take a drink.

However, be careful about having the straw too high -- I do have a scar on the bottom of my chin from a crash with it ;)

continue trimming until it's in the right spot because if you trim to much right off the bat you might be reaching farther than you want to go to get to it.

I lost my initial straw, which I had cut...so I went to a hardware store and found like couple footlong sections of the clear hose and the harder tubing...so now I can basically mass produce them if I'd like...or just switch out straws when one seems too old/gross/etc...

And it's cheap, just as an FYI

I trimmed mine where I just barely have to move down to drink and keep my eyes on the road.

I too got some spare tubing at Home Depot, just in case.

I lost the extension (the clear part) and did the exact same thing. I like mine longer

I cut mine down a little because it was actually hitting me in the throat when I was in my aero bars.
