Alright so I do the long bike (followed by 30 minute run at IM pace) and long run on the weekend, thats the only way it works with my schedule, I'm using the Triathlete Magazine IM plan loosely, plus putting a couple half IM and the tuneup stand alone marathon in April, last two months saturday and sundays:

5/24 bike 4:59, run 2:10
5/31 bike 2:16, run 1:01
6/8 Rockman half IM (4:51)
6/15 Bike 5:24, run 1:40
6/22 bike 1:30 (sick), run 2:11
6/29 bike 4:56, run 2:23
7/6 bike 4:03, run 1:14

next few weeks to IM
7/12 Muncie half IM
7/20 bike 5:00, run 1:15
7/27 bike 5:30, run 2:30
8/3 possibly Quartermax 1/4IM on sat, sunday bike 3:00
8/10 bike 5:45, run 2:35
8/17 bike 3:30, run 1:30
8/24 bike 2:45, run 1:00
8/31 IM

Is 8/10 the correct weekend to have my last huge weekend? that would be three weekends out giving me 3 full taper weeks, would the 7/20 7/27 two straight 5 hour bikes be a bad idea? I do recover quickly and not injury prone,

Gracias!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I'm following along with your plan. What are the details of your last three weeks?

Is this your first IM? What are your goal times for the bike and run segments? Your plan seems a little light on the running side of things, and maybe a little light on the biking side too, judging from your HIM time. Rule of thumb which seems reasonably accurate to me is to take your HIM time and double it plus 10 - 20%, which would put you aiming at around an 11:00 - 12:00 IM. Is that the zone you're looking for? If so, I'd probably be doing a 6:00 as my longest ride, and 3:00 as my longest run.

Also, I tend to throw in at least a couple of long bikes with an hour run following, to work through the nutrition plan for the run. Set up an aid station for yourself with the kind of stuff you'll be eating/drinking on the course (I set this up in my car with a thermos of hot chicken broth and some de-fizzed coke) and make sure you're okay with whatever you'll be downing on the course.

I don't think the back-to-back 5+ hour bikes is a big deal, most people can do long bikes every weekend without injury. I think your taper looks fine too.
