On a century last thursday, my sponge popped out and I didn't go back to pick it up. Does anyone know if/where I can buy just a sponge, and not the entire setup? Thanks.

If I had a nickel for every yellow sponge I saw on the ground during a race...

Happens all the time. A cheap and easy solution is to buy a shower scrubbie(mesh) and stuff it in the bottle. I bought one at the dollar store and washed it really well in the dishwasher before using. It only cost $1.00 - you can even pick your favorite color.

Profile sell the Straw and sponge combo without the bottle. Not sure on the cost. There is posting on TriFuel on how to secure the sponge so it doesnt come out somewhere.

You can buy the Aero Drink parts kit, which includes the mesh splash guard, straw, and rubber bands for about $8.

I actaully have ridden tri course's after local tri's and picked up the discarded sponges. I think I have about 10 spare ones in my tri closet, all washed on hot in the dishwasher of course. But as murphy's law states, I you have a spare or two you will never loose the orginal, go figure.

I got sick of my sponge popping out, especially since it only seemed to happen when I was flying downhill. Plus being covered in Gatorade got old. I went to Home Depot and bought the biggest sponge I could find and then cut it to fit in the aero drink.

You know I tried that because someone here said the same thing. Problem is it never seemed to clean up, even with putting it in the dishwasher...got stinky. Similiar to having a sponge for dishes(which I don't have either for the same reason).

So it can match your outfit....or your cape.

The new design is much better..... http://www.all3sports.com/product_info.php?pName=profile-design-aero-dri...

I would suggest buying this rather than spare sponges. The new version works great.
