Philadelphia Women's Triathlon
I had my first experience as a spectator a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. I took the camera and kept myself occupied trying to anticipate the times that the racers I was watching would cross the viewing points or the transitions. It is a little more fun because you go from one place to another to watch your people at different points in the race. It is not like you just take your seat in the bleachers and wait until its time to leave. It is really a fun sport to watch. Everyone is so friendly and enjoys getting cheered on. If he is not too shy, he should have plenty of fun just talking to all of the other spectators and racers. (I also brought an ipod with episodes of Arrested Development just in case.)

is anyone going to be here this coming weekend for the all-women's tri in Philly? It's my first tri and while i am very nervous, my husband is also experiencing some first-time-spectator anxiety (how cute) . He doesn't have a clue what to do and is having some angst about this being a repeat of my track and field days where he was VERY BORED as a spectator. Any words of advice for him or will anyone be there who would be willing to show him the ropes. (silly post I know, but he is scared I think, haha).
