I had a great open water swim session this morning until I removed my wetsuit & managed to rip a 5-inch hole in the outer skin. It's an older suit, probably with not much life left, but I need it to make it through this season. The good news is, it's in the lower leg area, so water entry should not be a huge issue, but I'd like to prevent this tear from becoming larger. What do I do here? Is this hole too large to use rubber cement or a patch/repair kit? Duct tape? If anyone has any experience, I'd greatly appreciate your advice.

There are definitely ways to fix it. I've never done it, but here are a couple sites about it:

You can go to sportsbasement and pickup some wetsuit repair glue for about $10 or less. You basically put the two sides together, apply the glue and let it dry. I have an old wetsuit that I've repaired several times and it works great.
