the american triathlon
so i told my brother that on the 4th of july i wanted to wake up early and do an american triathlon, 1km swim, 77 km bike, 6 km run (ie; 1776). his reply..." you're using kilometers! there is NOTHING american about that! the british went 77 km. We went 77 miles! thats why we won! "
so here is the question, what is your american triathlon?
I'm so doing that!........
I was wondering what I'd do with a day off, now I know. Thank you!
You've now started a debate in my house! My husband thinks more appropriate (i.e. more American) distances would be 1700yd swim. 70mi bike. 6mile run.
"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit." ~George Sheehan
This should be a race, rather than the crappy 5k's that seem to be in vogue everywhere... Give me real distance or give me death!
Go America.
Not sure of the distance, but the swim would have to be a point-to-point across the Delaware River.
I'd vote for the Liberty to Liberty triathlon. It goes from the Statue of Liberty to the Liberty Bell. I'd probably do it if I hadn't heard it was run fairly shoddily.

VERY FUNNY!
