Ok, yay for her. But seriously, any woman who says "a bike ride isn't worth it if it's less than 30miles", even if she'll only ride in sunshine, is most definitely not "a skirt". Give the woman some credit - she apparently rocks rain or shine!!!
You guys might be our new role model 'more senior couple' (not to imply old!). That is, married over 30yrs and still being active and healthy together. We're approaching our 5th anniversary and hope to see our future like your's. :-)

So in 2003, we both had had enough of being overweight and started running and riding on a regular basis, watched what we ate, and really worked hard. Between us, we've lost a person!
As an example of my speed improvement:
Before After
5K 22:29 20:02
10K 48:47 40:46
Marathon 4:39:33 3:35:09
I'll let Peggy give out her own PR's if she wants....
This Weekend - Saturday a 10 mile run and Sunday a ride of 40-50 miles, with lots of hills. We're going camping this weekend, at Cowan Lake State Park in Wilmington, OH.

Sounds like she is certainly a motivated athlete. Way to go for both of you sticking to the different lifestyle. I'm guessing doing the change together made it a better experience then going solo.
It's official, my wife of 30+ years is no longer a 'Skirt'.
She's been racing Marathons and Sprint Duathlons for four years now, and has always hated non-perfect weather...
She has proclaimed to me that, "It isn't hardly worth getting on the bike if we're going to ride less than 30 miles, or going for a run if it's less than 4 miles".
Yesterday, before our mid-week training ride, it started pouring, and I didn't hear a single word of complaint from her about the weather.
60 Miles later, after we had gotten back to the van, covered in road grit, and soaking wet, she admitted: "That was the best ride ever!"...
And, no we're happily married , so you can't have her!
