Today is leg day off, Master's swim tonight. Hope your run goes better than your swim CropTop ;)
10 mile run (7:45m/m pace)
45 min. swim...
I guess it's time for this novice swimmer to learn the flip turn...
Any input on that? I am going to head over to the swim threads to see if I can find some info...
Hope your run goes better than your swim CropTop ;)
Thanks for the kind thoughts, Chucky. In fact, the run was much better than this morning's swim.
Headed out at lunch for a speedwork session in the freshly fallen snow. 3 km warmup followed by 12 x 1:00 @ sub-5k race pace w/2:00 easy run. Finished off with a 10 minute cooldown run for a total of 12 kms in 1:01. Footing on the paths was pretty good in spite of the snow.

45 minute run at lunch. not a good one, legs heavy so was a bit of a struggle.
lunch track workout. 1 hour, 1 mile warm-up and cooldown to and from track, the rest was 10x400's at just under race pace, with full rest 400 in between. missed track last nite as I was still recovering from saturday's baar brawl.
3.25 mi run... 2nd run in 5 months. I'd start jogging slowly and my HR would jump to 185 so I'd walk until it got below 160. Somehow, running with my HR at 180 feels like biking with my HR at 160. Perhaps I can run a decent 5k (xc19:58) on anaerobic endurance, but since I'm gonna try some olympics this summer, I gotta get the HR down somehow. I can't fool everyone into thinking I'm a good runner when I have to do a 10k. Especially since I've only run that far for training 3-4 times in my life.... I don't know what to do.... It will be really embarassing if I can run a 5k under 20 and then it takes an hour to do a 10k... and over all, I am in so much better shape than when I ran that 5k...
3 mile run today, oh did it feel good to get back out there again.
I had been shooting a lot of arrows trying to get ready for indoor nats and that with class has pretty much chewed up most of my time.
Hola cat :P
Hey Cat, relax.
One swallow does not a summer make.
2nd run in 5 months, your body doesn't know what to make of it.
You'll be fine.
Today, I jogged 6km. It was cold, but the achilles was better than it has been in a while.

[OK... I originally posted this in the 02/08 thread because I'm a moron...]
Was supposed to do a 1 hour swim but I just didn't have it in me this morning for some reason. I was sloppy, lacking energy and getting nowhere fast so I called the workout at 30 minutes. I've got a speedwork run scheduled for lunch so we'll see how that goes.
