I am sure many of us spend long tedious hours on the trainer. I am always looking for a motivational movie or something to watch to keep me going and less bored through the sweat. I was thinking of maybe getting a Tour de France highlights video or something. I was wondering what other people liked/used that worked for them.

A lot of people use What it Takes and also What it Takes spinerval edition. The first is a documentary-like movie that follows 4 pro triathletes for a year up to 2005 Kona and the latter is music and additional training shots from the first, without much dialogue.

Your favorite Tour de France stages work, too.

2007 Ironman Worldchampionships. I swear every time the announcer talks about "If you want to find out how far you can go. Come here"

Gets. Me. Every. Time.

Although lately with my trainer sessions being wattage driven all I'm staring at until I get burn in on my retina is that cadence/wattage display.

Rudy is always a good one. What it takes is good, any Lance Armstrong video, or watching old IM reruns.

I like Godfather. Also, I watch a lot of cycling movies, and ironman championships. You can get a lot of TdF movies on Netflix, or through other means.

Tour de France is coming up. Good time to tape some mountain stages.

I like to get on Google and watch tri videos. There are quite a few ITU race videos that are 20+ minutes long, so you can string a few of them together for a decent trainer ride.

I am actually burning through the Battlestar Galactica series right now. Finished Season 1 this winter, and slowly I am getting though season 2, as it has been so nice to ride outside, with little to no inclement weather.

I just try to catch up on whatever I have missed,as in TV series. Usually I download my TIVO to my laptop and convert to DVD format so I can watch them whenever.

Anything with Viggo Mortensen in it, I find especially motivating...

Oh, is that not what you were looking for?

In that case, I like fast-paced action or sci-fi movies when I'm on for long trainer rides, for shorter rides I used Spinervals.

I like going through TV series. Firefly was a great series, cancelled all too soon, but those episodes kept me going for awhile. I also liked the BBC series MI-5 (in the UK it was called Spooks). I watched a season of 24 but that didn't really cut it for me. Battlestar Galactica is good too.

Hubby and I are working our way through Weeds right now.

I like working my way thru TV series as well.
I have done seasons of 'Lost', 'Firefly' (that was really good Ironmom) 'Heroes'

Though one of my favorites is 'Zoolander'

Of course some of the IM championship reruns are inspiring too.

I just watched "Overcoming" the other night. It's so awesome. It's all about Team CSC during the 2004 cycling season. The bonus disc is really good too, but probably not quite as motivational.
