Hamstring Cramping
Are you taking in enough electrolytes? One time I did a bike ride without my normal accelerade and started to get cramps in my calves.
If it's not as simple as an electrolyte issue, you could have imbalanced your quads and hamstrings significantly when you strengthened your legs (toward the quad side). It tends to lead to cramps, strains and tears. Cramps being the first sign. Make sure you stretch your entire posterior chain frequently and if you think you overemphasized quad work when you strengthened your legs, do some work on your hams. I also don't recommend trying to run through a hamstring cramp, it's how I tore my hamstring.
thanks guys, i was thinking it could be a muscular imbalance or other connected issue seeing as though this never happened before the IT Band problems.

Hi guys, For the first time in my race career I've started to get cramps, really bad ones in my Hamstring. I'm pretty flexible and pretty good about water / other nutrition. I realize there no one specific cause for cramping up, but anyone have any idea how to get rid of this?
Not sure if this is connected or not, but I'm recently getting over bad ITBS and have strengthened my legs (hip area especially) a lot over the last few months, might be some sort of connection there.
I actually twinged my hamstring a bit in a race last week running through one and want to do whatever I can to make sure that doesn't have again.
Thanks, any advice would be appreciated
