Ok, for the 4th time in a week, the sirens go off, and we head to the basement to hang out and wait for the storms to go by.

The midwest has been pummeled this spring including 4 dead at a boyscout camp tonight. My heart goes out to all that are affected.

On a lighter note, I live 2 blocks from the RR tracks, and you'd think that UP would stop running damn trains during the tornado warnings. It really does sound just like a train.

Yeah i feel your pain. We had one do a bit of damage by me this past weekend. A bunch of my friends were enjoying the beach while i was practicing my open water swimming when a huge storm front rolled in and the sirens went off and we were all rushed out of the water. Got pretty well pummeled by hail running back to the van, but the tornado ended up about 10 miles east of us so we were alright. Scared the crap out of everyone, good times.

How tragic, was just watching the story on the news:(

Also off topic--I would REALLY LIKE SOME WARM DRY WEATHER!!!! We have had highs in the low-mid 50's...YES you read that right. It was 52 and raining for my run at noon yesterday. Thought my fingers and nose was going to freeze off. It's supposed to get better (high 60's) in the next couple of days, but then go back to rainy. Whats up with that? Bought another pair of Uggs last month because they happend to have them at Nordies but never thought I would still be wearing them in June.

wow, I thought Houston was bad- well...it is- 90+ degrees and heat index of 110 at 11 am, and it's hurricane season, but hopefully it will be a quiet one
we are spending time either in an a/c house, car, gym, or at the pool. My poor kids don't remember the last time we went to the zoo or park (I do, it was the last day in the 80's..in April, I think)

We finally got some rain here in Atlanta, but not enough - we're still on water restrictions and my lawn is turning brown - UGH! We've had a couple of tornadoes some through over the last few months and it can be VERY scary. I decided to take my kids (teens) to their first rock concert last month - the Eagles at an outdoor venue. We had lawn seating - no sooner then we set up, the storm came. Hail, winds, thunder, lightning, you name it. Security did a great job of getting everyone under cover, but we were still pretty much out in the open and we all got a good scare. Luckily the tornado just missed us and the show went on.

You haven't been to the park since the 80's?! You gotta get out more ;-)

It just got done with a 100+ degree heat wave by me, its nice to go outside at 5 AM and be under 75 degrees.

That picture is unbelievable! I just arrived in Madison, WI for the summer. The day after a funnel cloud was spotted about a mile from my home in MN. Was stuck over two hours in the Wisconsin Dells area from all the flooding. Those poor folks have had a rough couple of weeks. Just wanted to remind drivers to be patient and considerate when faced with unavoidable delays--it ain't like folks anywhere know what to do with 15 extra inches of water. You'll get to your destination eventually.

You're welcome. I figure I have to make up for my lack of Tri knowledge somehow.

BTW, that's one of the most amazing pictures I've ever seen.

Wow, nice shot.

This is what finished my OWS last week. Its hard to tell but the sky to the left is completely blue and beautiful. Then this thing came in and hailed on us and took out some houses a few miles away.
