I'm looking, my better half is I should say, is looking for a tri bike. She's currently looking at the;

Cervelo-P2C-Duraace

QuintaRoo-Dulce
http://rooworld.com/2007/default-US.aspx

Felt-B12

If anyone has any opinions (+/-) we'd love to have them.

I am a Specialized Transistion man myself :), but if I had to pick from that list I would say the cervelo. But make sure you ride the bike and get the one that fits you the best.

I have the B12 and absolutely love it. However, I went through an extensive analysis based on measurements of about 30 different regions of my body with my fitter before we made the decision. After he got the bike into the store we did a 1.5 hour fit. I have been extremely happy with the bike. I was choosing between the P2C and B12 and I haven't once regretted my decision.

Oh for sure, she had a Cervelo 54' which didn't fit (thanks alot mcghies in Las Vegas!!) they didn't want to negotiage (we brought it in every single weekend for 2 months for adjustments, DOI it didn't fit!!!) so she had to sell it. Now she's looking for something along the lines of 51. She's considering going to Nytro in SanDiego. Anyone have a (+/-) about them?

+ 1 for the Felt B12. I love mine.

That said, they're all good bikes, so see which one fits best and also which one just catches her eye the most. That led me to the B12.

Nytro is alright. I got my P2C there back in March. My dad bought his Cervelo SLC there a year ago. They didn't spend much time with my fit but I already knew what I wanted and was planning on getting help with the fit elsewhere and by myself.

However, I am sure that shop will be willing to help a girl out with a fit more than a guy (I think most bike shops would be like this, but yeah).

I would give them an average rating in terms of all around customer service. If they are busy with phone calls or other more important people than you expect to wait, even if you're buying a new bike.

Yeah, in Jan I bought a new bike and my 'custom fit' lasted a whole 10 minutes tops. She's thin and very good looking so I'm sure she'll get all the attention she needs :). We're hoping they'll put together 3 bikes for her so she can take each one for a spin... is that unrealistic? They had her send her measurements...

You should expect them to put all three bikes together and let you take them for a spin. If they don't, I would look elsewhere. As you've found, a HUGE part of the right bike is fit. As each bike fits each person a bit differently, you really want to ride them to know.

I've ridden the P2C and did really like it, but I've never tried any of the other bikes.

I'd say call all of them and tell them what three bikes you want and see what they can tell you. It might depend on what they have in stock.

I found the folks at Incycle in San Dimas really awesome when helping a friend purchase a bike -- for a $300 range bike they had one, and then found the other for her at another of their stores and brought it in. They were great about communicating with her, too. Even though she also tried another shop, she was so happy with their service and knowledge (she is brand new to riding) that she is now sad that she is moving and has to find a new place. Find a place like that! They carry Cervelos, but I don't think the other two.

they are all great bikes, I really like the QR, but then again I usually prefer the bikes that are a little more unique. Like everyone else on here though just try them all and go for the one that fits the best.
