I am headed to Boulder in a couple of days to check out the University of Colorado. Does anybody have any suggestions of things to do, places to visit, good restaurants, etc? I will be there from Thursday to late Saturday. Thanks

I was there a couple years ago and I think its 8th street, has a ton of cool shops, street performers and its blocks and blocks long. Eat at Illegal Petes, great food, and its a fun atmosphere. Enjoy your visit!!

Boulder is awesome and there is sooo much to do. I live in Denver. My boyfriend went to CU, he loved it.
You should:
Eat at the Mountain Sun
Hike at Chataqua
Mountain bike Betasso
Go to Pearl Steet-lots of good restaurants and bars- that is what Cadence guy above is talking about. Not 8th street. Pearl Street
Go running at the Boulder Rez.
Thats should keep you busy for at least a few days.. have fun!

+ 1 on Illegal Pete's and Mountain Sun.

Don't be so easy on yourself 'cause this one might be all that you have left

We visited Boulder last year. I'd recommend bringing your running shoes and running on "that" trail. I have no idea what it's called but someone here will know what I'm talking about or you'll figure it out because it's huge and everyone runs on it.

+1 on Pearl Street.

Boulder is arguably one of the best - I'm not saying THE BEST so don't get all bent out of shape here people :) - places to be outdoors in America.

I just got back from a couple weeks, a week of which was spent outside Boulder.

For eats- skip Illegal Petes. If you have a Moe's or Chipotle in your town, youve got something better. Way overrated. If you lack those two, then by all means go ahead. Mountain Sun for sure- especially if you are of legal age. STAY AWAY from happy hour, though! waaaayyy too crowded. Walnut Brewery if you want a higher end meal. BJs is good for their happy hour specials- they used to have buy 1, get 1 free personal pan pizzas during happy hour. The Sink is a decent off the wall place for a cheap meal. I love Moe;s Broadway baels for breakfast. very good at great prices.

Things to do- Chautauqua Park is great for trail running and sight seeing. Let the geek in you out and visit NCAR- accessible by hiking through the park's trails. Other wise, run up the canyon on Boulder Creek Path. Take a 40 minute drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park. If you arent from the region, you'll love it.

I love Boulder for its diversity and tons of outdoor minded people. Hate it for the yuppies who have made it too expensive to live there. But it definately has its own vibe.

Life is short. Play hard and get dirty doing it.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am in Boulder now and it certainly is awesome. Ok, I am done with the computer until I get back home. There is just too much to do and not enough time to do it.
