Blister Problems, Shoe problem??

Ok, I have had a very big problem with blisters on the medial ball of my feet with my Saucony trigon 5 shoes (neutral trainers). I have stopped the blisters by using body glide on the balls of my feet before I run. But, I am still getting annoying hot spots in those areas. I used my older Asics Gel-1120 (light mild-pronator) for a week and no more hot spots! Although, I did get some knee and I.T. pain because the asics are very old. I have a normal arch, and I am a forefoot runner.

- Should my next pair of shoes be mild-overpronators??
- Or should I just contribute the hot spots to the design of the sauconys?

Thanks, Mike

When I find a shoe that doesn't give me hot spots, i stick with it. I tried some Mizunos one time because I the Nike+ pocket in left shoe bugs me, but the Mizunos give me hot spots. They have about 10 runs on them, and they just sit. I went back and bought the good ol' Nike Voomeros again.

Go to your running store and have them look at your gait. they should be able to put you in an appropriate shoe for your foot strike. Then find one that works for your foot shape.

I have a similar question. I get numbness in my right foot when I get to about the 3 mile mark and it goes away at about the 5 mile mark. Does anyone else have this problem.

Thanks for the help. I am hoping to try some newtons soon. I really like the idea of a shoe made for forefoot runners. Thankfully they have a very good return/exchange policy, so if they give me hot spots I will try a diffrent pair.

Usually numbness in the foot has to do with a pinched nerve. Could be a slipped disk, or just favoring one leg over another (form problem). I would recommend doing to a orthopedic.
