BURLEY VIKINGMAN 1/2 IM- ANYONE DOING IT?
Nope! But good luck!!!!!!
My brother (Cap'n Mal) is doing that race. I'm doing Spudman (oly) in Burley on July 26, which is a lot of the same course. The best part about the race is the swim is in a river, and the current goes with you. You'll probably get a PR swim that you'll never be able to beat anywhere else. Good luck, and hopefully you have great weather, and hopefully the current is strong.

My wife , sister, brother in-law, and I are doing it. My Sister and her husband drove up a few weeks ago to check out the course and it sounds like alot of fun, a good first half distance. The weather looks like it will be cool (mid 60's) wich will be nice and it looks like the water temp will be in the high 50's (a bit chilly). Hopefully the wind wont blow but it most likely will be blowing from 12-20 MPH according to the forcast. The wind always blows in southern Idaho. Not a real destination race unless you are a small town redneck like us then it is just the kind of place you like to be. Good Luck.
I'll be there with my brother. (Not ChunkyB, another one.) This will be my first half distance and I'm pretty excited....for it to be over.
I think this is a no-name race only because this is only its second year. Burley has been doing the Spudman, an oly distance, for years and the whole town supports it. Now, people come from all over to do this fast little oly and rave about what a great race it is. We tried to get my wife in but Active.com booted me off the site three times and then the race was full. I think it filled up in like 6 minutes this year.
Anyway, this town does know how to put on a triathlon and I have high expectations.. for everything except for my time. I'm also hoping for no wind. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm driving from Colorado with 2 girlfriends to this no name race in the middle of nowhere... just thought I'd see if anyone else was as foolish as us to sign up for this ridiculous race or if anyone has done it in the past?
