Buffalo Triathlon
I think it is very bad form to make an anonymous accusation against another racer, naming names, on the internet. If you had a beef, tell the RD. This guy isn't here to defend himself.
To the OP, great job! That's an enviable time for a 1st Oly.
It was a great day for racing (maybe just a bit warm for the run). I didn't race, I was out taking pictures.
Not sure why non-racers that day or just even bikers think it's a good idea to be out on the course while others are racing. Now if they are there to help people then that's just down right foul, besides dangerous. At IM Switzerland last year it was confusing, we had a lot of bikers out on the course the were just riding and not racing.

tritoride awesome job!
Honestly Damian, I agree with PJT. Your only two posts here ever are an accusation and then saying who you are as if that makes it ok? Poor form. I'd love to see you as a community member, and participating in discussions, but that definitely isn't getting started on the right foot.

2:19 1st OLY or any OLY! Sweet!
Just Joined recently and am still getting my feet wet.
Never saw a post that I had an opinion on being such a newbe to the sport/web site.
Maybe I'm a little to hot about the indent and haven't expressed it in the right way/forum.
I listed my name b/c the next message said I was doing it anonymously. I didn't do it to make it OK, I did it so it wasn't anonymous.
Again, don't want to offend anyone or get off on the wrong foot, but I was wanting to voice my discust at the lack of sportsmanship. Again, must not be the right forum.
For the record I have spoken with the RD and I attempted to locate the racer, but was unable to find him after the race.

tritoride28 one hell of a time. I wasn't even close to touching that. Keep it up.

No hard feelings. It's certainly OK to discuss drafting, but naming names is really the issue (both from a fairness perspective and, in extreme cases, a liability perspective for our webmaster).
I would just suggest editing your first post to delete the racer's name & number.
I didn't know you could edit. Thank you for the 411 on forums.

I also competed in my first Tri in Buffalo, MN. It was a great race with one hell of a run out on the Olympic course. My only complaint is one racer had 2 non competetors pulling him on the bike course.
If you want to cheat and draft, do it, but don't get outside help. I was almost hit twice by these "helpers" because they were more worried about pulling then looking out for other racers.
Great race and I'm hooked on Tris.

Congrats, and thanks for the edit. It sucks when others cheat :(

Just completed my first Olympic distance triathlon in Buffalo, MN on Sunday. I finished with a time of 2:19:40 and placed 9th in my age group (20-29) and 68th overall. The bike course included pleny of rolling hills and some nice flats. The run course was ok up until the point where the olympic distance runners went past the turn around point for the sprinters, then it turned uphill for about a mile and a half and then looped back around downhill into the sprinters again.
Overall, a good race on a perfect day and a great start to this years triathlon season!
