Stolen: 2008 Cervelo P-3 at CapTexTri in Austin
That is terrible. I'm sure Anton will be able to change my mind, but this stuff really makes me lose faith in humanity some times.
Did you file a police report?
Notify all the LBS in the area?
Most bikes have a serial number...do you have that? (although thieves will file them off)
Check pawn shops?
Will the RD make good on this?
Sorry for your loss...but while rare it does happen...

We all have both a light and a dark side Sully...It is unfortunate that there is always someone willing to give in to that dark side....I feel sorry for the person who stole it...not only for what fpugsley will do to them if he ever finds them but also for the twisted aspects of their life that drove them to it.

It wasn't fpuglsey's bike, he was just reposting. But yes, it is sad that people feel they have to steal from others.
About 2 months ago I was mountain biking in a park about 2 miles from campus. I set down my bag to eat, and momentarily forgot about it and started riding again. less than 10 minutes later my bag was gone along with my phone, my keys and my wallet. Even without the loss of monetary value, it's a big PITA (and not the delicious kind)!
what is slowtwitch?

Oh, and my bad...not realizing it wasn't fpugsley's bike... Guess I should have put on my reading glasses.

Sorry to heat about your bag Sully.
On the light side, On Monday I was pulled over on the side of the road investigating a strange noise my bike was making when I man walked by with his dog and offered his assistance. He then told me where his house was if I needed to borrow his tools or use his phone. Made me feel good to have an interaction that didn't involve honking and profanity.

Well, sadly, if the thief is smart, he'll part it out, and sell all the stuff on eBay. Let's be on the lookout for new auctions of Zipps, and a frame, etc.... maybe we can catch this guy, if we look for it.

I am just reposting this from slowtwitch... me and my bike got home safely.
Stolen: 2008 Cervelo P-3 from the transition area at Cap Tex Tri in Austin, May 24
Please be on the lookout for my nearly new 2008 Cervelo P-3C that was stolen from the transition area at Cap Tex Tri on May 25th. It was located in the plus 50 area for the Olympic Tri and was the first bike on the aisle a few rows down from the Elite wave.
A bag was stolen from the next row from a friend who had to have his wife bring spare keys from Houston. There was a section of fence along the river trail that had been opened for some sort of maintenance after the swim was finished. Volunteers were checking numbers at the front gate but the transition area was so large that they couldn’t see the entire area. 1700 bikes had originally been in the Olympic transition and several hundred were left at the time I returned to get my gear.
My shoes that had been clipped in the pedals had been removed and were on the opposite side of the rack. The transition was completely emptied by the time the police arrived.
The bike was new in March and worked perfectly in its only two races, Ironman Arizona on April 13th and Cap Tex Olympic on May 25.

Let me know if you have any information that might help catch the pitiful x%^**^%$( excuse for a human being that did this or can help me get my bike back so I don't have to ride my mountain bike or fight with my daughter to take back my old tri bike that I passed to her.
