I started training about 2 months ago for triathlon, never did any racing of any type before. So I my first duathlon last weekend, I tought it would be a great way to start and the water has been super cold here.

My personal objective was to do it below 1h 30 min.. I ended up doing 1:25.45 nothing amazing but it's a start.

I'm very happy with both of my 5km 22 and 23 minutes. The bike I'm not so happy with 39 minutes, I would like to shave 4-5 min.

Transitions went very well, I'm really happy. The only mistake I did was to mount the front wheel on the wrong side (I realized it when I put the bike back in the car) so my bike computer didn't work. I had to stop because I tought the sensor was moved, moved it more and it didn't work. So I made a choice not to let it upset me and do the race.

What sucks is that the 15-20 seconds I stop to try to fix the sensor cost me an extra place... the person in front of me finished at 1:25.35

It was all fun !

Next time don't stop in a sprint-style race to fix something like a computer mount! Does it really matter in a sprint?! Aren't you going 'all out' anyways? If it were a long-course and you had to keep it below a certain MPH avg so you have something for the run, I'd understand. Regardless, the 5k times are pretty good. It sounds like you know this, but work on your bike speed and maintain your run training. :)
