Howdy all. In a quest to streamline my gear I was wondering if anyone knows of a specific model (if it exists at all) HRM strap that can communicate with both a Suunto T6 Advisor and a Powertap Pro/SL computer.
I kind of hate the fact that while I am on the bike and used the Cycleops strap, once I get off for the run I no longer have HR data available to me. And considering wearing 2 straps seems awfully silly.

cheers
S.

I am curretnly using a Suunto T4 for my training. Just couldn't make myself take the step to the T6. It does great as a transition during my Brick workouts. I even have a shoe pod and bike pod. Can't complain at all. Although occassionaly the foot pod will turn itself off during the bike and then I have to click through for the crazy thing to find it again.

Just a minor annoyance. The T6 is the mac daddy of the Suunto line and I am sure it is spectacular.

Personally I don't bother with heart rate on the bike most of the time anymore (also riding with a PowerTap). I have heard that some of the straps can be "learned" by the PT... but I'm not sure on models of PT and HRM that can do it. Might be worth trying with yours -- I think what I read is that just doing the "learn" on the PT with the strap on supposedly worked for some people.

The PT can learn HR strap frequencies. I adjusted mine to be able to read my Garmin HR strap. There's a section in the back of the manual that will walk you though how to make it search out other straps. Provided the T6 uses the same type of trasmission, should work.

To tri or not to tri - that's not a question at all!

Thanks all. Let me see if the PT can talk to the Suunto strap.
