Dry Land Training? Help!
I use the rubber workout cords for some resistance training. I can hold one side of a ring on my shoulder with my left hand and press down with my right, and vice versa ... or with a slightly longer one put it above my head with one hand and pull down with the other. Push ups are great and I've done some arm presses, straddled between two chairs, too. All of that helps a bit, but I think position and breathing are so important, you should find some way to get in a pool every couple of weeks or so, or put your wetsuit on and get in the lake. It will give you some confidence too.
do endurance work for your chest and back
have your watch beep every minute, and when it beeps do 20 pushups, repeat this for as long as you can
variations on the dumbbell fly also help mimic the range of motion
last year i kind of ran out of time to be able to get to the pool as frequently as i wanted to, so i made an effort to get my running and biking in, and tried to do 20ish minutes of core and pushup type things. though it might have been better to get in the pool for longer, i still ended up fine

I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out.
This year I will be doing my second sprint tri. Last year it was at the end of July so I got about 4 weeks of swim training in at the lake. This year the tri is the second week in July.
I do all my swim training in a lake (that's where I live) and also because there is no pool in my community. Closest pool 145kms away; not practicable.
So, it's May and it snowed yesterday and if things go as usual it will be the end of June before the water warms up enough to swim in.
Any suggestions on what I can do for swim training out of the water? As you can imagine swimming is the worst part for me.
