Trainer workouts?
I for one prefer to do things like one leg drills on the trainer and some interval type work. I can not really sit for more than 1-1.5 hrs at a time on a trainer or i will go nuts. I usually do a 10 min warm up and the vary intervals and SLD i also will spin in a really hard gear at a low cadence to build power. I try to get as much form a shorer workout by doing those things. Long hours are better suited to the road if the weather is good.
If your going to do something wrong enjoy it.
My Life, My Race, My Blog
If you ride three times each week for 25 miles at a steady aerobic pace your race pace will not be much faster than your training pace. If you want to bike fast you have to bike fast. Sounds silly but that's the way it is. You can get some super work out of your trainer time but you have to do planned intervals to increase your strength and overall speed.
There is a glut of bike interval training programs available. Try em out and see your speed increase.

Just got the cycleops fluid trainer, what a Beautiful machine!!
I am wondering if you think I would get more out of doing the long hours on it, or doin intervals of hard sprints and stuff.
I ride Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday around 25 miles at a steady aerobic pace. I am looking to improve my sprint and olympic bike times.
Thanks
