Before I take my bike in to the LBS and ask the the irritable wrenches, I wanted to see if you all could help me out. This is my second season using the Cateye Strada Wireless bike computer. Last year I didn't have any issues with it, but now it doesn't seem to be picking up a signal. I replaced the battery and reformatted it to the correct wheel size. I am having trouble getting a signal transmitted to the computer. It stays at 0 MPH. I tried holding the lcd screen closer to the magnet to see if it was too far away, but it still read 0. Also, it worked from that location all last season. The magnet appears to be in the sensor zone and I still get nothing. Could it be a problem with the transmitter on the fork? Any suggestions?? Thanks.

keep futzing with it (it'll come back)...that's all you'd be paying them to do

i had this problem with my polar bike computer. it's wireless too. occassionally the cadence would go out. these things are so robust sometimes and, at others, so damn delicate!

Ive had the same problem with my cateye, though mine isnt wireless. Wiggle the magnets around and make sure the one on the fork is actually close enough to the one in the spokes. That ended up being my problem, i gave them too much clearance. Hope you get it runnin.

I would do what Nutty said and fiddle with the magnets. When they say 5mm...I think that's more like maximum between them. Plus, like tri-ac mentioned, that's all you'd be paying the "irritable wrenches" to do anyway. :)

One fun thing is to put the wireless computer in the doorway of the bike store and see it post you're going 90 MPH! :) The magentic field for the anit-theft stuff messes with it, which is kind of fun.

I have the cateye wireless as well, They are super sensititve when it comes to their distance. If either the magnet of the sensor is too far away or at a wierd angle it won't pick up the signal. I would make it so they actually touch on one revolution and work backwards from there.
