Ironman.com Launches New Site
I took a look last week and it definitely is more presentable. Don't know that I'll be visiting it more often because of it. The key for me will be how the Ironmanlive events improve, if that's part of the restructure.
I thought it was interesting that they are going for the "Social Networking" angle.

i have to agree with tribro. yes its an improvement, but i never went to the site for much other than to watch ironmanlive. the site isn't quite as "sloppy" as it used to be, but in my opinion it could be much better.

ya, that's the quote but i don't see anything on the site that would indicate social anything. maybe it's coming?
Yeah, I caught wind of it last week, I see the finally went live...
Is it just me, doesn't it have the same look and feel of the new insidetri.com site?
I do like the new race event listing pages, it's a one-stop, see-it-all, calendar and status page. It's definetly an improvement.
I agree tribro, they need focus a little more effort on the ironmanlive event part, it has been lacking. The ITU is way ahead of them, but their races are shorter and have fast paced action...

"The site has an enhanced look and feel that offers more photos and video, along with an easier interface for visitors to access information."
“Our new site provides users with better navigability, therefore making it more user-friendly and accessible,” says Ironman’s Director of Interactive Media, Travis Sitzlar. “We have worked hard to design a system that will allow us to keep up with the ongoing growth of the sport by providing more integration with social networking and technology.”
